Local missions and outreach

Through local missions and outreach programs and partners, you’re working in and around Austin to make the lives of the less-fortunate better.

And because these programs take place locally, many of these programs offer opportunities that are perfect for you — whether it’s your first time serving or your hundredth.

CARING FOR THE HOMELESS

Through the Community First! Village (CFV), we’re helping to provide affordable housing and community for the homeless around Austin.

The Community First! Village provides affordable, permanent housing and a supportive community for individuals coming out of chronic homelessness. This transformative residential program exists to love and serve our neighbors who have been living on the streets, while also empowering the surrounding community into a lifestyle of service with the homeless.

Are you ready to connect with our neighbors at the Community First! Village?

Caring for children

Through Angels Afoot programs, we’re caring for disadvantaged children all around the greater Austin area.

We’re continually looking for ways to help disadvantaged children, where not only individuals, but whole families at Riverbend can participate in the opportunity to do so. We accomplish this through our Backpack & School Supplies Drive, our Christmas Toy Drive, and our Christmas Toy Stores.

Are you ready to care for disadvantaged children with Angels Afoot?

HELPING OUR Neighbors

Through our partnership with ADRN, we’re helping to provide disaster relief in times of emergencies around Austin.

ADRN coordinates with churches across central Texas to provide disaster relief in times of emergencies (fires, floods, and other natural disasters). Dozens of Riverbenders have been trained at different levels for disaster response, and ADRN uses our facilities for trainings on a regular basis.

Are you ready to help your neighbors repair and rebuild with ADRN?

EMPOWERING FOSTER TEENS

Through Hopefully Sow, we’re working to sow seeds of love, joy and aspiration for children in foster care in the Austin area.

Hopefully Sow is a non-profit that was birthed out of Riverbend, with a Board of Directors made up of primarily Riverbend members with a passion for helping foster teens. They come alongside different foster homes in the area, such as The Settlement Home and Austin Children’s Services.
