You Can Make A Difference

Ways You Can Help

We have all kinds of ways to help, depending on your circumstances, and ability to physically volunteer or not. Please review these options, and see if there’s one place you might help serve right now. We thank you.

Monetary Donations

When it comes to financial giving, we ask that you continue to support the church first, so we can keep our staff and ministries going.

If you are in a place to give beyond your normal giving to Riverbend, then please click on the GIVE ONLINE button, then on “Riverbend Works” and that money will be used to continue our mission works such as getting the food we need for the food pantries operating each week.

Our food pantries have an arrangement with the Central Texas Food Bank, where we can purchase needed food for pennies on the dollar.

Note: this is a perfect option for those of you who are at high risk.

Our Urban Ministries team is working hard to help meet the needs of our poor and underserved neighbors in Austin. It takes a lot of willing hands to meet these needs, and we’re always happy to have new volunteers. If you’ve never volunteered before, these opportunities are an easy starting point.

Donate Snacks

As it gets hotter, we need bottled water, bags of ice, and snacks for our volunteers at the food pantries. We cannot exceed 25 volunteers per shift, so let this number be your guide. Drop off at the food pantries. For more info contact Krista Ross.

Donate Food

We have a recommended list of food items that our organizations need. Download the list by clicking on this link. Donations can be dropped off in the large bins at the Café Entrance to the Community Center on the Riverbend Church campus.

Prep Sandwiches

Help prepare sandwiches at Riverbend Church’s kitchen in the Community Center (see on map). These sandwiches will then be transported to the food pantries to be given out to those in need. For more info contact Janice Blanton.

Sew Masks & Headbands

We are providing masks for our volunteers and as back-ups for medical staff. Headbands with buttons to attach the mask elastic reduce the risk of ear irritation for those who are required to wear masks all day. Download sewing patterns or donate fabric, buttons, and elastic.

Serve Food

Be part of the volunteer teams that are serving at our Harvest Blessings Food Pantries. There are three different serving opportunities there: bagging bulk food items into separate plastic food bags, loading bags of food into the trunks of cars, and helping to manage traffic flow of cars that line up.

Food Assembly

To keep up with the increased demand for food for Harvest Blessings, we have created a temporary food distribution center at Riverbend. Food is delivered throughout the week and needs to be assembled into bags to be delivered to the food pantries. For more info contact Krista Ross.
