Our Purposes
The primary purpose of our Building A Blessing campaign is to build a new Student and Children’s center. This tool coupled with our incredible staff and programs will enable Riverbend to reach students across all of Austin.
Our ministry team has been challenged to find creative ways to use this new facility, up to 7 days a week, essentially transforming into a hub for teenagers, families and children. A place that they want to come to and hang out with their friends and our leaders. A place they drag their friends to, because it’s cool, and it’s a safe place for them to process all they face in life.
Other Key Purposes of the Campaign include:
Creating an awesome large space for our K - 3rd graders, with a stage surrounded by 5 huge screens that enable us to use video elements to theme the room, essentially creating VBS every Sunday for our kids.
Building a new space for our Pre-Teens (4th and 5th graders), complete with their own stage, big screens, audio and video capabilities, and unique programming to help kids develop a strong foundation as they enter into their teens.
Renovating our existing facilities, grounds, and signage to create a more visitor-friendly, fully accessible campus that is warm, welcoming, and easy to navigate, along with some improved spaces for our adult ministries to meet and expand.
Eliminating a significant portion of our debt. Today, we have nearly 9.7 million dollars in debt that we would like to reduce, freeing a substantial amount per year to be used to support the ministry, our missions efforts, our programming, our facilities and equipment, as well as our growth. The first $5.5 million raised from the campaign will first be applied toward the cost of the building and renovations project, with all other money going toward our debt reduction.
