Habitat for Humanity
Habitat for Humanity works in partnership with God and people everywhere, from all walks of life, to develop communities with people in need by building and renovating houses so that there are decent houses in decent communities in which every person can experience God’s love and can live and grow into all that God intends.
About Habitat
Habitat is not a giveaway program. In addition to a down
payment and monthly mortgage payments, homeowners invest hundreds of
hours of their own labor (sweat equity) into building their Habitat
house and the houses of others.
Habitat houses are sold to partner families at
no profit and financed with affordable loans. In turn,
the recipient's monthly mortgage payments are used to build still more
Habitat houses.
Riverbend and Habitat
Every time we build with Habitat it costs Riverbend approximately $5,000.
Your designated donations to Riverbend with "Habitat" in the memo
line
will be
used to fund a Habitat build, including the current one, and will not be
spent
on other organizational
projects or ministries. If you are contemplating a donation, please
consider your gift over and above what you might already contribute
to
the overall ministry of Riverbend. You can also use the on-line giving button at the top of
this site. Whatever
you decide (build, fund or both) we hope you will pray for the families
and all the folks involved with creating these new homes.

Volunteer to Bring Lunch
During the building phase, Riverbend will typically provide a meal for the workers. If you are interested in helping with that, please contact Lana Morris.
